San Telmo

San Telmo is an attraction in Buenos Aires, at Humberto 1º 400.

San Telmo is the oldest barrio in Buenos Aires. It is a well-preserved district known for its colonial architecture, cobblestone walkways often bustling with artists and dancers, and a multitude of cafes, tango parlours, and antique shops. Best enjoyed on a Sunday, start down Calle Defensa where hundreds of stalls and street performers make it difficult to even walk. Stop to peer through windows or go into some of the many antique shops that line the street, until Plaza Dorrego where you'll find enough professional tango dancers to dance to exhaustion. Don't miss a stroll through Parque Lezama, a tango show at El Viejo Almacén, a visit to Palacio de San Telmo or some shopping at San Telmo Market.
