The gigantic granite Texas statehouse is usually regarded as one of the most distinguished state capitols in the United States and has been declared a National Historic Landmark. It stands 14 feet higher than the US Capitol building, making it the the largest capitol building in the United States. Stop by the Visitor's Center if you're interested in learning more about Texas customs and don't miss the "Saddle Up" exhibit, depicting Texas ranching culture as well as the daily lives of current cowboys and cowgirls.
