Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall
Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall is a restaurant in Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta, at 684 John Wesley Dobbs Av. NE.
Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall opened in 2014 on the Eastside Trail in Old Fourth Ward, and its National Parks-inspired theme is named for Lady Bird Johnson. The kitchen serves 'elevated campfire cuisine': American classics that are grilled and smoked, plus shareable plates that rotate with local availability. There's a local beer list and house cocktails, and brunch runs Friday through Sunday. The Grove covers more than 10,000 square feet of outdoor seating with vintage camper bars. Indoors, the Black Bear Bar has a fireplace, and the sister cocktail bar Ranger Station is upstairs.
Musts
Smoked Nashville wings, the smoked brisket pastrami sandwich, and a local draft out in the Grove. Come back for the three-day weekend brunch.
Good to know
The entrance is right off the BeltLine Eastside Trail at mile marker 9.25. Reservations are taken online, and the spaces can be booked for private events. Ranger Station, the upstairs cocktail bar, has its own separate vibe.
