Founded by Christophe Vasseur in 2002 in a beautifully preserved 19th-century boulangerie, Du Pain et des Idées is one of the most celebrated bakeries in Paris. Its slow-fermented pain des amis and swirled escargot pastries draw queues, and it now also runs evening table service around the oven.
