Negen Straatjes

Pompadour

Pompadour is a cafe in Negen Straatjes, Amsterdam, at Huidenstraat 12.

Pompadour is a chocolaterie, patisserie and tearoom in the Nine Streets, set in a room lined with ornate wood panelling originally made for a Belgian town hall in 1895. Its bakers work with Valrhona chocolate and as few processed ingredients as possible, and recipes evolve through exchanges with French and Belgian colleagues.

Musts

A financier made with Spanish almonds and brown butter, a pastry from the patisserie counter, Valrhona chocolates, and a cup of Catalan coffee.

Good to know

The tearoom's carved wood panelling was made in 1895 for the town hall of Mortsel in Belgium and reinstalled here decades later. Every coffee comes with one of the house financiers.
